Medicare and Medicaid Senior Advisory
MAMSA Foundation, Inc. is a California nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering communities by helping individuals understand and access their healthcare benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid programs. Our Care Coordinators provide education, advocacy, and care coordination to improve health outcomes and support informed healthcare decisions.
Our Benefit Utilization Program (BUP™) works in three steps:
- Benefit Overview – We review your plan and explain your available services and benefits.
- Medicare Plan Navigation – We help you access dental, vision, hearing, schedule preventive exams, and use OTC benefits.
- Care Coordinator Support – As your direct connect - They assist with scheduling exams, applying for Medi-Cal, SNAP, and other social services.
A Free Plan Benefit Review is a no-cost session where we evaluate your Medicare plan to ensure you’re using all your available benefits, including preventive care, OTC allowances, and supplemental services.
Your Team Care Coordinator (TCC) acts as your personal guide. They help schedule annual wellness visits, explain your benefits, assist with applications for Medi-Cal or SNAP, and connect you to additional community resources.
The program is available to individuals enrolled in Medicare and/or Medicaid (Medi-Cal).
Participation is voluntary and does not affect your current coverage.
Registration is simple. You can sign up through this website (click the Register button above), call our office, or scan a QR code on our marketing materials.
Once registered, a Team Care Coordinator will contact you to start your program review.
OTC (Over-the-Counter) benefits are allowances your plan provides for items like vitamins, first aid, personal care, and other approved products. We help you understand how to use them before they expire.
SSBCI (Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill) provides extra services to eligible members, such as nutrition support, transportation, in-home services, and home safety modifications. We review your eligibility and help you access these benefits (as available with your plan).
Absolutely not!
The program is completely free, voluntary, and carries no obligation. Participation does not impact your current Medicare coverage or available benefits.
Once registered:
- We Check In – Conduct a plan utilization call.
- We Assess – A brief 12-minute health assessment to identify unused benefits.
- We Follow Through – Your TCC guides you to maximize and use all eligible benefits.
